The overall objective and idea behind creating this event was to promote the sales of online shopping portals in India. It was planned that online shopping portals will give huge discounts to the customers during GOSF every year. This event holds its resemblance more or less to the Cyber Monday in United States which is celebrated on that Monday which comes after Thanks Giving Day.
