The Goose is the classic college town bar. Located on "The Hill" directly across from the campus, the Goose caters to college students and that's about it. But this can be a very good thing for those of us on a budget; The Goose offers $2 Bud/Bud light/Jim Beam all day, every day.
There are some things that not all people will enjoy. Smoking is permitted. Even visit this site was smoking while I was there! Also, there are limited food choices for vegetarians, although the menu looks pretty good (and offers more than just what is considered typical pub fare) for non-vegetarians.
Wednesday nights they have Metal Night. As the name implies, metal music is played all night. This was my favorite night. When I am able to enjoy alcohol again, I will be finding a sitter so I can go to Metal Night again. Usually, they have a laptop set up at the front of the bar, iTunes filled with more music than I can wrap my head around and I'm a huge music fanatic, and you pick what's played throughout the night.
This quote works well for the hyper-competitive. In a bar game of pool, darts, quarters, or whatever the game, Russell's quote exudes a simple beauty. As long as you're playing already, there's no sense in letting the other guy or gal win.
As we talk deeper about the severe styles of Frye, notice that this company takes major fashion risks that exemplify the times. Take for instance the "Julia" grommet lace boots. This boot comes in a variety of colors with stand out borders and grommets. If the color palettes and excessive grommets aren't enough, then you can purchase the "natural" and "cognac" models with the grand Frye insignia on them. These boots are loud and risky, but make a great fashion statement and are a nice shoe to represent our out of the box times.
Another midtown hot spot is Celtic crossing. This is a local favorite it's similar to a t-shirt country in Boston. The crowd is savvy and friendly, you can grab a burger a beer and even a live concert. It has the makings of an all night one-stop spot.
Friday nights are usually a packed crowd, and don't be surprised if you spot someone dancing on the bar. Friday night's from 9 P.M. to Midnight they have the karaoke cranking. Don't be shy, get up there and belt one out, you probably won't be worse than anyone else singing. Saturday night's at Fat Dawg's from 9 P.M. to closing time they have a live DJ who plays top 40, country, pop, you name it, he plays it. And for you more adventurous types, later in the evening they have a pole dancing contest. Come on guys, get up there and show us your best moves!
