7 Steps to Create a Wedding Day Timeline |
Posted: May 5, 2021 |
Planning a wedding day timeline might be the most essential thing you can do to minimize stress throughout the weekend. How much time should be devoted to each stage of this day so that it passes without fuss and rush? 1. Gathering of the bride: 2 hoursThe wedding day begins with morning preparations, and all subsequent stages of the celebration depend on whether you manage to meet the allotted time. Don't underestimate the amount of time it will take for your wedding makeup and hair, even if you plan to create the most natural look - it is better to get up 20 minutes early than be late for your own ceremony! Include in the timing the possible delays of the makeup artist and stylist by 10-15 minutes. Bridal photography is another important part of your gathering. So, do not forget about the photo session of the fees: it will also take time to make several portraits of the bride before meeting with the groom. If your morning will be held in the company of friends, set aside 15-20 minutes for their preparations, plus another 10 minutes for a glass of champagne and a couple of photos for memory. 2. Wedding photoshoot: 1-1.5 hoursThe last thing a bride and groom should think about during a wedding photo shoot is that they are late for registration. Therefore, set aside at least 1 hour to shoot: so that you can take all the planned shots without haste and just enjoy the moment. Add to this the time it takes you to get to the shooting location and from there to the location of the ceremony. 3. Buffet: 1 hourThe buffet is not only a light snack and the first cocktail, but also an opportunity for guests to get to know each other. Allow 40-60 minutes for them to communicate in a relaxed atmosphere, but also do not drag out the buffet so that they do not have time to get hungry and bored. Use this time to say hello to all the guests and take pictures together. Let the photographer have 10-15 minutes to shoot the wedding arch, the banquet hall, and individual decor items before the guests take their seats. 4. Wedding ceremony exit: from 30 minutes to 1 hourThe duration of the ceremony largely depends on its format, but on average, 5 minutes should be allotted for the guests to take their places, 10 minutes for the bride and groom to leave, another 10 minutes will be taken by the registrar's speech and your wedding vows. If there is a separate exit for the friends of the groom and bridesmaids at registration, this should also be taken into account when drawing up the timing. Swapping rings can also take some time, especially if a small child is serving you jewelry. Thus, the optimal time to fully enjoy the ceremony is approximately 30-40 minutes. Set aside another 10-15 minutes for congratulations after it ends. If the venue for the ceremony and the banquet are located at different venues, do not forget to include in the timing of the day the time you will spend on moving (taking into account possible traffic jams). 5. Wedding reception: from 2 hoursFor the first few hours of the reception, you should not plan active contests, dances, or performances by artists. Give guests time to enjoy delicious food and socializing and toast to the newlyweds. 6. Sunset photo session: 10 minutesIf the weather permits, leave your guests for a few minutes and go to watch the sunset with the photographer. The light at this time is especially beautiful and the resulting photos will be simply magical! And you and the groom can escape from the wedding troubles and just enjoy the moment "here and now." 7. Entertainment program: from 2 hoursMake sure the artists are ready to perform and invite guests to the dance floor! It is quite difficult to plan the evening program strictly by the minute, but you should calculate in advance how long the entertainment events and contests will take for guests so that the holiday is eventful, but at the same time does not turn out to be prolonged. Don’t forget about the bright and memorable ending point - it can be a fireworks display, a fire show, or a photoshoot among sparklers. Additional hours for renting the venue and the work of wedding contractors will also have to be paid - and how much it will cost, it is better to find out in advance.
