A dental or an out source dental lab is not only made up of dentists. In addition to dentists, there are more professionals without whom it would be impossible to achieve optimal results for patients. And we are not only referring to the dental assistants and hygienists who work in the cabinets, but to those who are part of the dental laboratory.
In this article, we are going to explain what a laboratory is, where very relevant work is carried out that often goes unnoticed by patients. If you want to know more about bright dental lab, you can find its details on www.dental-lab-china.com.
What is and who works in a dental lab China?
• A dental laboratory is a company dedicated specifically to the manufacture of dental materials. • Crowns, splints, bridges, veneers or any other prosthesis that the dentist is going to place in a patient's mouth come from the laboratory. They are the brains behind making technologies and equipments to help build dental needs quickly and efficiently. • They need specific training and have the title of Higher Dental Prosthesis Technician. • In other countries, however, the name of these professionals may change and they are usually called dental mechanics. • In any case, a prosthetist has in-depth knowledge of oral anatomy to make teeth that look like natural teeth. • The result is prosthetics of any kind that manage to restore dental functionality and aesthetics to the patient's smile.
This is how a dental laboratory works
A laboratory can be a supplier of different dental clinics and provide the material you need at any time.
However, at Bright Dental Lab China we work exclusively with a laboratory, with the advantages that this entails. On the one hand, the prosthetists know perfectly what our work methodology is.
Although they do not work directly with patients, since their training does not allow them to perform actions directly on the oral cavity, they are familiar with them and cover all their oral needs.
On the other hand, Dental Lab China or Outsource dental lab only receives orders from dentists or clinics so they don’t have to worry about delaying the time of their patient.
What is made in a laboratory?
Every orders are specifically designed for a particular patient. In the laboratory with which we work, dental technicians provide us with.
All types of dental prosthetics
• We understand by prostheses all those pieces -complete or partial- that are made to measure for the patient and that help them recover their aesthetics and dental functionality. • We are talking about crowns, veneers, bridges, implants, inlays, and dental reconstructions. • Thanks to the technological innovations that we have in our clinic -and which we will detail below-, production times are notoriously reduced. • Thus, from when a person comes for their first visit until they have their veneer, for example, only 72 hours pass. • The usual waiting time used to be 30 days.
Dental splints
• The workers make retention splints (Essix), that is, those that are given to patients once they have finished their orthodontic treatment. • The necessary splints are also made to carry out the combined dental whitening that we offer. • These splints re flexible, and the prosthetists are also responsible for manufacturing the discharge splints recommended for patients with bruxism.
Latest technology for technical equipment
• As we have previously anticipated, technology not only contributes to speeding up production. • Likewise, it ensures optimal and effective results. • The dental laboratory we work with is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and the dental technicians are experts in their field.
Software 3 Shape
• The 3 Shape computer software allows you to see the final result of the patient's mouth without even having started the treatment. • For example, let's imagine a patient needs a dental inlay. • After your first appointment with a professional specializing in Conservative Dentistry, your mouth will be scanned to obtain a virtual sample. • The dental technician will design the inlay you need on your teeth and thus anticipate the result. • This method allows the treatment to be very predictable, thus avoiding design problems or adaptation of the prosthesis to the person's tooth.
Robotic milling machine
• This robotic machine is connected with 3 Shape software. • Until not long ago, the carving of the material was done by hand, so the result was not always exactly the model initially devised and the process took too long. • With the current technological innovations in the laboratory, a robotic milling machine is in charge of manufacturing all the pieces following the virtual sample to the millimeter. • In a matter of 20 or 30 minutes (depending on the size of the piece) the prosthetist obtains the designed prosthesis.
Baking oven
• The next step is to give the prosthesis the color of a natural tooth. • To do this, it is necessary for the material with which the prosthesis has been made -generally porcelain or zirconium- to crystallize, that is, to change phase. • This is achieved thanks to a firing oven that provides the appropriate glaze -gloss to the piece. • In addition, the oven manages to give it the nuances that each prosthesis requires depending on the aesthetic needs of the patient.
Make-up
• Although the firing oven personalizes the dental piece, sometimes the prosthetist must give it some characterization. • Thus, the result is even more natural. • This task, known as makeup, requires skill and precision on the part of the prosthetist. • Thanks to a special paint that never fades, the worker strategically mixes the colors and paints each prosthesis by hand. • Our patients are very surprised by how realistic their prostheses look, so the laboratory work is very effective.
China Dental Lab safety
• All dentists and technicians must follow strict hygiene guidelines and protocols. • These cleaning and safety instructions are reflected in the Biosafety Protocol, a manual that indicates the precautions that prosthetics must take. • This document details how workers must protect themselves, not only due to the chemicals present in the laboratory but also to ensure the integrity of the prostheses. • Inside the laboratory, it is necessary to wear a mouth-nasal mask, protective glasses, disposable gloves and caps, and a surgical apron. • All laboratory material -as is the case with that used in the clinic- must be sterilized and disinfected after each use.
Now that you know where dentures and splints are made, you will surely have a deeper understanding of how a China Dental Lab works. Behind each treatment, there is always a specialized professional.
