Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, or FSGS, occurs when scarring impairs the kidney's ability to filter wastes from the blood. This in return causes symptoms, such as proteinuria, edema, high blood pressure, etc. Maintaining a healthy diet can help to slow the progression and control some symptoms.
