Each army is composed of 45 finely crafted game pieces (315 game pieces total) represented by two different sculpted designs (1 unit army and 3 unit army) and one sculpted seat of power (castle).

As a fan of both risk and game of thrones (show and books) i was very excited to get my hands on this game. I'm happy to report that this version of risk is the most enjoyable that i have ever played, and is fun even if you are unfamiliar with the show. I have played the 2-player and 3-player versions of the game at the time of this review.

I am mixed on the rating for this. As a fan of both risk and got this should be something i love, but the got version of the game isn't as good to play as 'real' risk and the more classic version of this played on a weird board with weird pieces isn't as satisfying.

The board itself is high quality with good pieces and the addition of plastic boxes to store them which is a nice touch that every board game of this complexity should have. It's all well made and feels premium, which the price reflects it's not a good way to learn risk but it's an interesting addition to the mix when playing with friends. We enjoyed the game in basic mode but found the got version tricky to master.

In fact, my default go to military strategy game is the combined game of both axis and allies europe 1940 and axis and allies pacific 1940.

The game was first conceived by french director albert lamorisse, ‘la conqute du monde’ (‘the conquest of the world’). It was first released in france in 1957 by parker brothers. Two years later it was released in america as ‘risk! the continental game. ’ the game featured a brightly-colored board and simple, colored wooden shapes, which represented different armies. i have no clue if this is the right sub to ask this or not, but, there’s a lot of debate going on about the rules of game of thrones risk (at least in my house there’s a lot of debate). I have a fairly specific question relating to melissandre (on the baratheon team). Her buff is that you can pay $200 and then before you declare war on an army, the person has to discard a maester card (which are generally pretty nice bonuses during attacks). Then you declare an attack. Ok.

Great board game, fairly costly but after having it about 2 months and playing it several times i'm glad i made the investment, it has provided many hours of entertainment. Having only played classic risk, and some axis & allies in the past i almost had to relearn the game from scratch, this version is incredibly intricate with so many different ways to win. O ne of my favorite memories as a child is playing risk with my friends. We spent hours rolling dice and moving armies across the board. It turned out that risk was more than a game, it was a geography lesson. My first exposure to the country of ukraine was from a risk board. And now as an adult, when i thought my risk playing days were well behind me, i learned i was wrong. Because i discovered game of thrones (got) risk. And as a fan of the george r. R.
