A few of my opinions on being healthy, what it has meant to me before, and what it imply to me now. What does trying to be healthy represent to you? Today I intend to chat about the word healthy. Or the context of attempting to be healthy. In 2020, what does the context of healthy even suggest? I used to accept that health was one way and one process only. I was ignorantly masked by my own focus of orthorexia, anorexia and binging. I conceived eating clean was the exclusive attempt. I charachterized foods as bad and good. I ate the same things every single day for years. I calculated everything. I regulated due to most of my life felt so out of regulation. I worked out every single day for at least an hour. I weighed myself excessively. For years, I accepted that all of this was healthy owing to I was athletic, ate nourishing food and exercised. How I was especially faulty. Looking back, I can recognize how destructive I was to both myself and my bonds with people all owing to I simply looked forward to be “healthy”. I didn’t favor myself some understanding because it interfered with how I considered I liked to live. Not only did I have these disputes, but I also reviewed others for their likings when it came to choice of nutrients and physical activity. Behind their backs, but now and again in my perception. It was amiss. Recent times are much distinctive. My refelctions of what charachterize attempting to be healthy has modified and I’m finally in this zone of harmony, which I never conceived would be possible. I’ve also matured quite a bit, learned compassion, adapted how to be kinder in thought, and loved myself harder. The last detail is specially big owing to learning to love and be considerate to myself brought me to love and believe others. I could connect and sympathize. I’m not sure if you’ll agree, but I think that most of our classifications of trying to be healthy have modified especially over the years. Society and the media are constantly contributing us with never ending material on how to eat, scientific data on what to abstain from, and how to lead the most awesome lives possible. Our fixation on attempting to be the healthiest, content humans all the time is overwhelming and can even be negative to our overall well-being. At times we overlook that health has more than one context. These are just a few cases of “attempting to be healthy”: • A tri-athlete has overall good health. • A person who exercises 3x a week is regarded to be healthy. • Indulging in dessert can be included in a healthy diet. • Green smoothies are a wholesome, wholesome snack or breakfast. • Engaging in yoga is a stress reducing habit of health. There are abundant black and white beliefs of what staying healthy represents and so I test you to look outside of what’s considered normal to you. To accept others view of what health represents to them and the liveliness it can bring to their lives. Let it be green smoothies or acai bowls, running followed by pizza on the weekends, early morning yoga or absorbing in time for themselves; every being is authentic and so is the context of health. https://sites.google.com/view/eleanor-health-durham
