Remember the first day you brought your resin jewellery home? It gleamed. It shined. It was beautiful! A couple years later, and that jewellery may have lost a bit of its sheen. Fortunately, with just a few simple care instructions, you can get the most from your jewellery, starting with these:
1. Moisturize Your Resin Jewellery Regularly
Want to maintain the shine in your resin ladies jewellery pieces? Then simply apply moisturizer every few weeks to a few months (or whenever you notice that it’s starting to look dull and worn). You don’t even need to remove any gemstones or metals that may be attached to the resin when moisturizing it.
2. Clean Only When Needed
Fortunately, resin women’s jewellery typically doesn’t need as much cleaning as other materials. That said, pieces can get a bit grubby from time to time. When a cleaning is necessary, all you need is a soft cloth, warm water and mild dish soap. For tougher stains or grime, a soft toothbrush can be used to gently polish away any dirt.
3. Keep Out Of Water
It’s okay to clean your resin pieces with a bit of water, but you should never completely submerge or soak it in water. Keep resin pieces away from any humid places (i.e. your washroom where you shower) and do not wear it in water.
4. Scratches May Be Sanded
As sturdy as resin pieces are, they aren’t unbreakable. If you happen to bang a piece of these jewelleries against a hard surface, you may very well get a scratch or a “ding” in your piece. In some cases, you may be able to carefully and gently sand it away, or you can even take it to a jeweller and ask them for further guidance on how to do it (some may even do the sanding for you for a small fee).
