Make a delicious batch of pancakes, top them with blueberries, syrup and celebrate National Blueberry Pancake Day!
To make blueberry pancakes, Mix up a batch of your favorite plain pancake batter. Wash the blueberries, pat dry, and keep them in a separate bowl. Once you have poured the batter onto the griddle, drop a few blueberries on top, this will ensure that your blueberries are not bruised during the cooking process. This will ensure that you have perfect bursts of flavor when you bite into your pancakes.
* Did you know that fresh berries can be mixed right into the batter? * When using frozen berries, it is better to scatter them on top of the cooking batter, this way they won’t tint your pancakes. * If you are making pancakes from scratch and using baking powder, let the batter rest before cooking, this will give the baking powder a chance to start working and the flour time to absorb the liquid, both of which make for a fluffier pancake.
A pancake… Also known as a hotcake or flapjack - a flat cake, often thin, flat and round, prepared from a starch-based batter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan.
How do you like your pancakes?
