Many of them, though not all, have safe entrances. Almost all of them are monitored so seniors don’t become vulnerable to any attacks or robbery as they may seem to be if they stay on their own in home. Moreover, there are other people around that make assisted living safer than being all alone in a house. If any resident faces an emergency, they can call for help as these facilities have alerting systems installed. #2 - Meals The fact cannot be held for denial that our appetite reduce as we age with every passing minute. And there are many people who don’t prefer eating alone. Seniors alone at home often warm up something in the microwave or on the stove instead of preparing a nourishing meal. But this is not the case for residents living in the assisted living center. Meals are provided and these facilities offer many choices of food to their residents. In addition, people have company to enjoy their meals with. #3 - Transportation There are many assisted living facilities that provide group transportation for shopping and to various community events. They can also arrange transportation for those residents who have to attend their clinic appointments. #4 - Less worry There are chances that the elderly can be taken advantage of by dishonest contractors and repair people. Seniors tend to be trusting and this is what makes them vulnerable. When it comes to living in the assisted living facility, they do not have to worry at all about the repair work. #5 - Socialization Socialization may be one of the reasons why seniors prefer living in the assisted living center. Many seniors prefer living in their homes but they aren’t able to go wherever they want to. Moreover, they don’t have anyone to interact with. Seniors, when they find others of the same age group, enjoy the company of peers. They do all those fun activities which are not possible at all if they choose to stay in home. Also known as residential care, a crucial aspect of the assisted living is that it provides security, comfort and purposeful activities for residents. It’s far more beneficial for seniors to live in the assisted living facility rather than nursing homes. This is because residents remain independent and live by themselves. Family members must keep in mind that they need to move slowly and with tender feeling while persuading an elder to move from the family home and to the assisted living facility.
