Planning a wedding is not an easy task. The most important of your lifetime requires a great deal of micromanagement to ensure that you can make the event as enjoyable as possible. This is the reason that most people opt for professional Indian wedding vendors but to be clear that is not the end of the job for you. It can be tricky to have a splendid wedding without any glitches, especially when it comes to bearing extra costs. After negotiating and bargaining with the vendors you might feel that you are on the right track as far as your budget is concerned but did you ask about any hidden or extra costs that might add up to be huge afterwards? If you are planning such a large scale event for the first time, make sure you avoid the following costs and check about these with your vendor beforehand: Additional Delivery Charges You may lose track of how many things are being delivered to your wedding house but the bills will keep adding on. Maybe you subcontracted your catering company to bake the most delicious wedding cake and the contract may have been inclusive of wait staff, silverware, linens, beverages, and the cake, but does that include delivery charges as well? Same goes for everything else being delivered at your doorstep or even the conveyance money the photographers might ask you for. It is easy to overlook all these charges, but at the end of the day they usually amount to a large sum of money. Keep all these costs in check to stay aligned with the budget. Overtime Charges Even though it may seem like a good idea to extend the event as you are in the mood to party, or something else is going on that you do not want to end right away, exceeding the allotted time can lead to some extra expenses. The expenses include the venue charges, party rentals, vendors, photographers, the DJ and the band, that all work according to the clock and may ask for overtime. IF your wedding runs over the allotted time you are up for a heavy bill. Therefore, make sure that you read each of your vendors’ contracts carefully and fix overtime charges beforehand in order to avoid any hassle on the wedding day. Meals & Gratuities Many of your vendors such as the photographers and other staff will be on duty for 6 to 7 hours straight and will need fuel to keep going. You should ask your caterer about the costs for vendor meals or any such arrangement beforehand. Even though these costs might be minimal, most Indian weddings last for a few days which means all these meals can drain a lot out of your pocket. Therefore, look at the number of vendors you will be having and plan your budget accordingly.
