These are the Top 100 DJs in the world, according to DJ Mag |
Posted: December 24, 2017 |
The Amsterdam Dance Event has hosted the DJ Mag awards gala, in which they place the Top 100 DJs of today. Although it has always been, and more lately, surrounded by controversy, nobody can deny that this classification is the most important and prestigious within electronic music. The list began to be developed in 1997 and, for the moment, the record is kept by Armin van Buuren: he has been awarded number one on five occasions, four of them consecutive. This year, new names have been added to the list, such as Marshmello - in style, as it has been ranked 28th in its debut - Lost Stories, Vintage Culture, Alan Walker and Australian Timmy Trumpet. On the other hand, The Chainsmokers have returned to enter a classification from which they had been expelled, and they have done it in a big way: they are ranked 18 after their great work this year, in which they have created themes such as Closer and Do not let me down. As it was rumored in the specialized media, Martin Garrix was placed in the first position, something for which many bet. The Dutchman is the youngest DJ to win the award, with only 20 years, taking the record from Hardwell. Behind is Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, in position 2, and Hardwell, in the 3. Armin van Buuren does not lose his space among the best, and remains with 4. The top five is closed by the veteran Tiësto , who it remains in position with respect to previous years. As we know that you love electronics, we leave you the complete list, do you have any DJ or do you think someone should come in who is not?
