Whether you live in a modern apartment in the area, or you’re just visiting to escape the cold weather for a few weeks, there’s a lot to keep you busy. Let’s look at some of the most exciting events taking place in 2020. 1. The Tampa Riverwalk Fit Festival, January 19th, 2020 We didn’t know being healthy could be this much fun. Delicious food trucks, fantastic artisan foods from your local favorites, music, art, and more are all taking place at Waterworks Park in Tampa. Games, sports, and even free wellness screenings make the Fit Festival a must-visit in early 2020. 2. Dessert Wars, February 9th, 2020 A complete 180 brings us to the largest dessert festival in America, right here in Tampa at Armature Works. This family-friendly event features over 50 dessert vendors battling for the approval of foodies around the country. If you love world-class cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, and doughnuts, you need to be here. General admission includes 30 sample tickets for all of your favorites, a “go-box,”and a vote for the People’s Choice Champion. 3. Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival, February 15th, 2020 Nothing represents the tastes of true southerners like the 6th annual Pork-Out at Curtis Hixon Park. Bluegrass, Barbeque, Beer, Bacon, and more make this event a hit. General admission includes unlimited beer and bourbon sampling in addition to the incredible lineup of live entertainment. If you’re looking to pig-out, the VIP Whole Hog Session offers the above and 12+ tasting stations with incredible dishes from local favorites. 4. Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, February 29th- March 1st, 2020 Gasparilla season brings out the best in Tampa. This includes a gathering of some of the world’s most talented artists. This event has attracted more than 250,000 people every year and has been running since 1970. Mediums include pottery, photography, glasswork, painting, woodwork, and much more. 5. Gasparilla Music Festival, March 7th-8th, 2020 The Gasparilla Music Foundation is a non-profit that organizes the renowned Gasparilla Music Festival along Tampa’s waterfront. The 9th annual festival features over 40 acts on five stages, ensuring an exciting experience for everyone in attendance. Previous performers include The Avett Brothers, Gary Clark Jr., The Roots, Father John Misty, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, and Cage the Elephant.
