RECONSTRUCTING HINDU HISTORY – THE OMISSIONS This course is the second in a two-quarter series that logically and rationally looks at the new scientific evidence and how it fits into the popular stories about the history of the Hindu civilization. India's deep history is the history of the Hindu civilization, which goes back to India's ancient past. The word "Hindu" has many different geographical, genetic, linguistic, cultural, and spiritual meanings. The main goal of this course is to look at the best proof for what is usually left out of most school and college textbooks about the history of Hinduism and India. Reconstructing Hindu History: Omission Course Hindu history is told in school and college textbooks in a way that leaves things out and adds things in. The course will look at the most obvious gaps, such as the ancient Indians' knowledge systems and how they affected the world at different times. It will also make a strong case for an ancient Hindu civilization that was based on knowledge. It will look at the old Hindu knowledge systems in many different areas, such as (a) philosophy, (b) medicine, (c) math, (d) astronomy, (e) music, (f) technology, (g) arts, (h) sciences, (i) textiles, (j) metallurgy, (k) architecture, and many more. It will also look at the evidence that shows how information has spread from India to the rest of the world from ancient times to the present. Hindus are saddened by the important things that are left out of their western-reconstructed history, which is still given as an indisputable fact by a western expert. Most of the time, a Hindu won't be able to recognize their own culture in the way Hindu History is taught today. This 1-credit course will: (a) introduce the student to original sources and efforts to reconstruct a more accurate story of Hindu history; (b) lay the groundwork for challenging the existing stories; and (c) give an alternative story of Hindu history that is based on evidence. The course will cover a wide range of topics and draw on original sources, curated material from published research papers in different fields, and classic textbooks written by different authors. Key papers and class notes will be part of the course handouts. CONTACT — 407–205–2118 Overview >> Hindu University Of America EMAIL- [email protected] Address- 5200 Vineland Rd 125 Orlando, FL 32811
