Tips To Create A Good Presentation |

Many students die a little bit when they hear that they have to present to their workgroup. This is perfectly normal: anyone who has practiced little with it thinks public speaking is very scary. You have to live, while two dozen eyes look at you, tell a story without stammering or making big mistakes. Fortunately, presenting can be learned! We have gathered some great tips from different study masters and social psychologists about presenting. Trust a good endingA good presentation stands or falls with the belief in yourself and your message. If you don't believe in your story, how are you going to make sure your audience does it? If you have trouble with this, ask a good fellow student, friend or colleague about your strengths. Write this on a post-it and stick it on your mirror. Repeat these good points for yourself at least twice a day while looking at yourself in the mirror. The tension should not winIt is not a bit tense for a presentation. However, the tension should not become so great that you close and lose your confidence in a good outcome. Experiencing a bit of tension keeps you on your toes, but of course you shouldn't go under it. Keep in mind: everyone thinks public speaking is scary! If you find yourself struggling to relax, look for good relaxation exercises or try yoga. Take your time for preparationStart on time. Then you can practice the presentation one or more times in peace. You also have time to think about something longer if you are not sure, or to look for nice examples, videos or pictures to pimp your presentation with and to find guinea pigs to practice your presentation. If you are not good with graphics or unable to structure your presentation, simply go download google slides templates by hislide. You can easily find thousands of PowerPoint, and good slides templates created by professionals just for your convenience. Provide a catchy introductionProvide a clear introduction to the presentation. Make it clear why your presentation is so interesting and what the importance of this presentation is. You then give the audience a reason to keep listening. Link your knowledgeMake sure that your presentation has a logical order. Make it clear what you are working towards and capitalize on the public's prior knowledge. What do you imagine at x? How would you interpret this picture? This links the knowledge you want to transfer to the audience at the right level. This makes it easier for your audience to record and retrieve the information. Don’t try to leadYour presentation should not be leading, try to make it strengthening and supporting. Do you use presentation material? May not be necessary but if you do use it, make sure that the material is only supportive: cool, striking image, sample videos. In short: everything that reinforces your story, but no lengthy text slides. Reading slides is an absolute no go! Be enthusiasticMake sure you look enthusiastic in the presentation. Sometimes you have to deal with a boring theory in a presentation. It makes a lot of difference if you do this enthusiastically and give many examples to clarify the theory instead of reading a number of sheets with definitions. Also remember that you don't want to show the audience how well you understand it, but you need to make sure they understand the material. So continue to enthusiastically involve your audience in the material. Provide different working methodsDuring a presentation it is important to stimulate the audience in different ways. You can think of adding a video, but also asking the right open questions to the audience. Handing out a simple assignment can clarify the material and make it more interesting. Slow down!Speak more slowly than you normally would. Drop silences as you move from one topic to another. Practice this!
