New Customers? This Is How You Find Them!
I have to admit, finding new customers is not easy at this time. Your customers have plenty of choice, and can easily compare your product or service on the web. That does not make it easy for you to distinguish. Where it used to be to place a simple advertisement in the local sufferer, it is now more about winning a customer for you.
Of course, you can choose the so-called "new media", such as Social Advertising, Google Adwords or various other online marketing activities, as well as the traditional forms of "advertising" like ads, home-based distribution, custom T-shirt printing, direct mail, radio and maybe even TV are still very important marketing instruments. But do not forget to forget about the best marketing tool, namely yourself.
Provide word-of-mouth advertising
- The most beneficial and effective way of advertising is still the age-to-mouth.
- A few simple tips will help you get more work soon:
- Keep your family and friends informed of your company's developments.
- Keep in touch with previous colleagues and employers, contact them to let them know what you are doing. Use Linkedin and share your story!
- Give customers who want to recommend free services.
- Consider giving customers a reward (money, gift) if they are going to recommend you.
Stay in touch with your customers
Has a customer been in a picture for a while? Keep in touch! They have ever had a good feeling at your company or business as an entrepreneur, so it offers instant opportunities. A few tips:
- Contact old and current customers to inform them that you have a beautiful project.
- Use a 'default' signature in all your e-mails as a marketing tool.
- Submit a promotional action with your invoices.
- Create a calendar with your work (from your customer). The customer can hang this in his / her office as a constant reminder.
- Give away fun, such as printed post-it, memoblocks, or writing blocks to your customers. Many of these items appear prominently on the desk for months, with your name on it. Surely know that he or she thinks of you!
- Make a poster or canvas for your customer that he / she can hang in the office.
- Bring your customer ideas, such as a blog, Twitter account or newsletter.
Make a call
Only "cold acquisition" is really not enough. Show that you exist! How can you do that better than in the following ways:
- Go to exhibitions , events, conferences, meetings and seminars that relate to your industry.
- Go to events where your customers come too.
- Sponsor an event of a customer.
- Be involved in KvK events.
- Make sure you always have your business card with you.
- Do some work for free for a non-profit organization.
- Be active in social groups where you are already a member (sports club, church, school, university).
- Contact people / companies you've been working with and ask if they can forward work that they no longer accept.
- Create a blog for future customers yourself.
- Invites future clients to write a guest blog for your blog.
Promote yourself
Last but not least, promote yourself. Nobody is better able to bring your product or service better than you yourself. And do not forget: 80% of local businesses are doing business with a company because they can 'own' the owner. Big chances so!
- Leave your logo, slogan and certainly your URL on your car (though big enough).
- Customized T-shirts with your business name or website URL. Tshirt printing is one of top 10 most effective marketing strategies in 2017.
- Advertise in a niche magazine.
- Put your business in online business directories.
- Spread a flyer or folder home-from-home in your town, neighborhood or city.
- Investigate which websites your customers visit and advertise there.
- Participate in a scholarship.
- Send a holiday greeting to your customers during a holiday.
