Being too busy to plan and prepare healthy food is not an excuse. There are many simple snack ideas and kids healthy lunch ideas that you can see on the internet. And they are not just easy to prepare but they can be classified as healthy snacks for kids because of the amount of nutrients that your kids can get.
Here are 6 simple snack ideas that you can use to ensure that your kids are eating well.
1. Fruit Smoothies Kids always love snacks that are yummy, and the yummiest of all are smoothies. Why not use fruits to enhance the nutritional values of the smoothies that your kids consume? You can provide them what they want and give them enough nutrition that their bodies need all at the same time.
Fresh fruits such as pineapples, bananas, apples, and apples are good options.
2. Ants on a Log Get several celery sticks and then you need to cut them into 6-inch lengths. Get a jar of peanut butter and spread generously on each stick and top with raisins. By using this idea, you will not find it hard to get your kids to eat vegetables.
3. Beet Chips with Yogurt Take two tablespoons of low-fat Greek yogurt and mix it with ¼ teaspoon of curry powder. Serve it with 1 cup of beet chips.
Beets contain copious amounts of vitamins and minerals which can make growing kids healthy and strong. But served in their natural state, kids will not eat beets readily. With this type of snack, they will fight among each other to have the first beet chip they can put their hands on.
4. Veggie Dippers If your kids are not very fond of veggies, this simple snack idea will help. Get some fresh veggies such as celery, cucumber and carrots. Peel the skin of the cucumbers and carrots, and cut them in half. Cut them into sticks about the same size as French fries.
Trim the celery from the stalks and wash it clean in cold water, and then slice into sticks. Put a guacamole dip (or other dips that your children like) in a small bowl and serve it together with the cut up veggies. Your kids will have a blast eating the veggies!
So as you can see, although in general most kids don’t like healthy food ingredients like vegetables, there are things that you can do to convince them to eat such snacks. With a little creativity and patience, you can prepare healthy snacks for kids that even you will enjoy eating.
