Rock painting fun for all ages |

If you are looking for a cheap art or craft activity for yourself or sharing it with children, consider the art of painting on stones. Rock painting can be a tangible human art form, but it is the easiest and most exciting way to learn to paint these days. The reason is simple; Painting something that already has shape and dimensions is like taking a shortcut to great results. Compared to the challenges of creating a lifelong image on a flat surface, overlooking the overview, filling in the foreground and background, trying to get the dimension shape, these are all things that scare new artists. On the other hand, painting on a rock that already has a body and dimension is so simple. One artist noted that gemstones are as colorful as paint, and, 'Anyone can take color!' rock painting supplies can be bought from any shop.
Finding good stones for coloring is a big part of the fun of this activity. Where else can you find such an exciting piece of art lying around the earth? Find smooth rocks. River dirt rocks are great, but more angular 'side by side' gems or broken field rocks can also turn into exciting things like small cottages and vases or flower planters.
To get started, you only need a handful of primary colors. Acrylic paint works best, and some brands also have a built-in cellar so that the paint can hold up well even if the finished stone art is exposed. Get primary colors, including black and white, and you'll be able to create any other color you need. Some cheap brushes (I like tough, white leather ones that you can pick up on everything in the ?? 1.00 store in 4 or 5 sets), and at least one narrow liner brush to make lines, usually you need to get started. Spread old paper to protect your surface and slow down the spray. The lids of the plastic margarine tubs make a refined palette for color mixing, but the Styrofoam picnic plates are also good.
Use a pencil to sketch the details. You can start with something as simple as a ladybug or a butterfly while drawing on a round or triangular design with a Panda. Fill the shapes with twenty colors, then, when the paint is dry, return with a small brush and add the details that will bring the piece to life, on the backs of ladybugs or on dots and patterns to decorate butterfly wings. There is no right or wrong way to paint a rock, and anything you don't like can be wetted and picked up with a paper towel if caught quickly. Otherwise, just let the error dry, then paint over it. You can't promptly destroy a rock. Stones are not as frightening as traditional art forms can be, so new artists find maximum comfort and enjoyment in the process. As a result, it helps them achieve even better results because creativity thrives when you are not afraid. Many rock artists started with straightforward pieces and quickly moved on to create more difficult trick artwork.
"I thought I couldn't even draw a stick figure, and now people call me an artist!" That's what rock painters often tell me. Whether you want to unleash your hidden talents or have fun with friends or family, discover the fun and joy of rock painting. I guarantee you will never see rocks like that again!
