Laser engravers are a bit different than traditional engraving devices. With the laser engraving device, no real piece of mechanics (tools, bits, and so on) ever comes into contact with the surface that is being etched. The laser itself does the inscription and there is no have to constantly be changing etching tips like with the other devices.
The laser beam is directed at the surface area of the product which is to be etched and it traces patterns onto the surface. This is all managed through the computer system. The center (focal) point of the laser in fact is really hot and can either vaporize the material or triggers what is called the glass impact. The glass impact is where the surface area in fact just fractures and the product can be eliminated, revealing the engraving that has actually been done. There is no cutting process with the laser etching machine.
