The trade deficit of the previous financial year 2019-20 was 152.88 billion USD. In 2020-21 imports and exports were affected by the pandemic. In the second quarter exports fell by 34%. Exports recovered sharply by 14% year-on-year in the third quarter. Imports in the third quarter of the financial year dropped nu 28% when compared to the previous year imports.
