Ethnolink appoints Karine Bachelier to launch bespoke interpreting service |

Leading Australian multicultural communications agency, Ethnolink has appointed Karine Bachelier to lead its newly created interpreting services division. After a six-month pilot period which included extensive stakeholder engagement, the decision was made to officially launch Ethnolink’s interpreting service comprising on-site, video, telephone and conference interpreting solutions. Interpreting bookings will be offered for a range of settings including, but not limited to, courts, legal, medico-legal, healthcare, business, and conferences. Speaking at the launch, Ethnolink’s CEO and Founder, Costa Vasili said, “We listened to our clients and they were very clear — they want a reliable, high-quality and professional interpreting service, with a personal touch. So that’s what clients can expect when they engage Ethnolink.” Karine, who joins with a solid knowledge and understanding of the interpreting sector, will lead the newly created interpreting division. With a wealth of experience in private, public and academic settings, including for the Government of New Caledonia, and at Monash University and RMIT University, Karine hopes to elevate the perception of the interpreting profession in Australia. “I’m passionate about languages and helping people communicate across cultures. I look forward to building on this passion of mine in my role at Ethnolink as we enter the Australian interpreting market,” Karine said. In particular, Ethnolink’s unique approach to organising tailored video interpreting solutions has been received with great enthusiasm. “On-site interpreting provides the optimal experience thanks to the human connection it fosters. However, video interpreting provides an excellent alternative in circumstances where an interpreter cannot attend on-site because of the location, and allows access to a wider pool of interpreters while maintaining the same level of commitment to quality,” Costa said.
