Company catalog, what it is and how to make it |

With the advent of the internet, companies are increasingly concentrating their online communication, investing mainly in social networks. It is certainly a strategy that has borne fruit in recent years, but is it right to think that paper communication is out of date and not very profitable? In fact, there are still many reasons why the paper, and the company cataloging particular, should not suddenly be underestimated. Certainly, there are very modern companies that have made the corporate catalog their strong point, something that users look forward to and keep with care, consulting it and marking the most interesting products. We don't even need to name it when we speak of a Finnish furniture company to assemble independently, which focuses on a catalog that is always in step with the times and has a great communicative impact every season. What are the advantages of the company catalog? A bit like a business card or a printed resume, even the company catalog has its reasons for being. First of all, it is something that remains, in the office as at home, and therefore has a different value compared to an internet page or a post of which you quickly lose memory. Then, let's not forget that on a sensorial level, paper always communicates something to the touch, beautiful photographs speak to the eyes and even the smell of the print is often very pleasant. In an era where everything is virtual and we no longer even print photographs (but keep them on the phone or tablet), being able to touch something makes an almost consoling sense. Furthermore - and perhaps this is the focal point of the matter - through the pages of a company catalog you can tell a story, made of situations, images, well-written words that surround the user with a narration that enhances the product, but at the same time it creates a relationship of trust between the company and the user, establishes a link that leads to loyalty and does so with understandable communication, which immediately reaches the heart of the reader. Of course, the story can continue in the new editions: for this reason, in the company catalog it is always necessary to keep in mind a continuous thread that guides the reader towards a narrative useful for him and that moves from new edition to new edition. Let's not forget, then - that - based on the target audience - there are people still active in terms of consumption, but little used to the internet. They are the ones who prefer the pages of books to the e-book and who prefer the ones to keep on the table at home to browse through them in search of something new. What is most important for a company is to find its style, what distinguishes it from any other. So how do we customize our corporate catalog ? After carefully choosing the history, the graphics, the images and having created a really interesting product, you can do it by choosing carefully between the different types of paper, cover and binding. Which card to use for printing your company catalog? Once you have decided on the effect you want to give to the catalog, the paper should be chosen based on the weight and processing. The weight is the weight of the paper and is indicated per square meter: the greater it will be, the more substantial the sheet, which can vary from very thin to real cardboard, depending on the effect you want to achieve on the cover and pages internal. There really are an infinite number of types of paper , ranging from glossy to opaque, with finishes from smooth to embossed. When you want to obtain a catalog that has the least impact on the environment, you can use papers from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified forests, or use recycled papers, to give that natural effect that recalls the ecological product. The tactile and visual effects, such as glossy or opaque reserves on certain areas of the company catalog or simply the reliefs on writings and logos, are, on the other hand, the result of the types of processing: lamination, UV varnishing, dry printing. For the printing of catalogs it is always important to keep in mind the final effect you want to obtain and paper is certainly one of the key points. Which is binding to choose after printing the company catalog? The binding is an important moment in the printing of the company catalog , because it helps to define the message you want to give. For this reason, the choice is really wide and we want to clarify the different types. The binding, or perfect binding, is suitable for fine catalogs in thick paper and with at least 64 pages. It is an elegant and resistant binding, in which a cotton, hemp or linen thread is used to hold the signatures and the various eighths or sixteenths superimposed, thus creating a single block, while the cover will be glued. The milled paperback is, however, suitable for catalogs or magazines with low weights, also in this case the total quantity of the pages must form a minimum thickness, for the correct formation of the edge. The staple binding is indicated when the pages are at most 48. You will surely have noticed it in magazines and catalogs, which have the two characteristic staples in the middle to keep the quatrains together. The omega stitch binding is very interesting when you find yourself having to collect the various catalogs in a single ring binder. In fact, this binding has staples that are not flat but in the shape of an omega letter "Ω". In this way the company catalog can be simply inserted in a binder. The spiral binding is the one you often see used in Dutch calendars (but also catalogs, brochures, block notes) from which you can easily "tear" the pages. The spiral, which can be in metal or plastic, makes it very easy to open the pages up to 360 °, facilitating the consultation of a volume. The Singer stitch binding is a real back seam, practiced with a textile machine. The type and color of the thread can be customized and it is also for this reason that, among all, this binding is the one that gives an elegant and at the same time handcrafted appearance. And the cover? Laminating can be very convenient In the Digital printing company in Ghana, the cover is of great importance: often, we decide to browse or not a book, a magazine (or a catalog) based on the first impression of its cover. Once the graphics, the message, the colors have been decided, it is necessary to keep in mind that the cover is also the most exposed and most touched part, therefore the one that can be ruined more easily. The lamination can be a good solution, because it makes it more resistant, conferring at the same time a most valuable aspect.
