How to Write an Imaginary Essay on If I Were an Alien |

An imaginative essay on if I were an alien, written in response to a question by an inquisitive student, is not one of the most challenging essays a writer could write. It does, however, present a difficulty for any student because it poses two questions, which are: What if I were an alien? What would life be like outside of this earth? How would I know if I were an alien? The premise of the imaginative essay is that the reader must be able to imagine what life would be like on another planet beyond this earth. In order to do this, the writer must put oneself outside of the borders of our own country, and of this earth. He or she might choose to live on an alien planet, among other places. This imaginary location will serve to psychologically prepare the writer to address possible issues concerning life on other worlds. For instance, if one is a Sikh living in America, and is sent off to serve in the armed forces, then at some point they must imagine being separated from their family and having to adapt to a different culture, religion, and background. This would be difficult enough in the United States. Imagine having to adjust to a new way of life outside your comfort zone while also dealing with the prejudice of others and the strange customs of your superior race. These are the kinds of things a writer going into this sort of venture would have to overcome. However, it would be even more difficult if the writer were to move beyond his or her own borders. This would require a whole other set of psychological issues that would need to be overcome. To do so, a person would also need to write about things from all over the world. The first thing that has to be done is for the writer to consider the culture and beliefs of those who he would be writing about. For instance, an American going into a Science Fiction novel would naturally assume that the people he meets are likely to be scientists and engineers. While this would not be the case everywhere, a sci-fi writer who decides to write about aliens from Mars might have to do some research to ensure that he presents accurate depictions of cultures and societies from far away. The same goes for a writer going into politics, because he would need to learn about the history and current political situation. The only exception to this rule is if the writer feels very strongly about the subject. Then the writer has to consider how alien he wants to make himself and the people he will encounter. An alien in love with human women is a very intriguing premise. To help the writer achieve his goal, he might want to consult with a psychiatrist or a professor of mythology to help him figure out if it is possible for a being to conceive a child out of thin air. It could also be explored if the civilization the protagonist comes from has a long tradition of astrology and the casting of spells. After figuring out if the alien character in the imaginative essay is a real one or just an idea, the writer can begin to write about his personality. Of course the writer cannot reveal much information about himself, but he should definitely reveal enough so that readers can come to some conclusion about his nationality, his sex, and his culture. The psychological side of a character should also be examined to see if it is based on reality. What would officially announced do in certain situations? Would he behave in a similar manner? Finally, the imaginative essay's purpose is to use this subject to teach, especially to teenagers. By teaching them about other cultures, they will be able to understand why some things seem strange or other reasons do not seem logical. Of course, there are many things about life that are unexplained, but the more we learn about life, the more we can show it is not irrational at all. Imaginary essays can help young minds grow.
