What is RoPA? (Records of Processing Activities)
| Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) is a GDPR requirement that documents how, why, and by whom personal data is processed. It ensures transparency, accountability, and compliance. RoPA helps organizations map processing activities, define retention policies, identify data recipients, and record applied security measures. Both controllers and processors must maintain RoPA to meet GDPR Art. 30, ISO/IEC 27701, and India’s DPDPA obligations. It supports risk management, audits, and cross-border data compliance.
