Zakiya Holman having lived in Southern California for 45 years, I cherish my roots in Inglewood. My family moved inland to be near my grandmother, Lela Franklin, who instilled in us a love for God, family, and education. I graduated from California State University, San Bernardino, in 2001 with a degree in communications, initially aiming to be a journalist, though life had other plans.
