Based in New York City, William Harnisch is the chief investment strategist at Peconic Partners, a position he has held since 2000 when he founded the company. He manages the firm’s investments and maintains a commitment to mitigating risk while maximizing returns. William Harnisch first entered the financial services industry as vice president of special equity investments for Chase Manhattan Bank. After a decade with Chase, he joined Forstmann-Leff Associates and six years later began managing the firm, overseeing assets of more than five billion dollars. After five more years he became the company's majority shareholder. He also helped usher the firm into the hedge fund business.
William Harnisch attended Baruch College at the City University of New York, where he earned a bachelor of business administration. He also achieved a master of business administration from New York University. Additionally, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). A believer in philanthropy, Mr. Harnisch contributes to charities in Long Island, Nashville, and New York, and also manages his own foundation.
