With a mission to provide “high-quality dermatologic care to the people of the North Shore of Massachusetts,” the Von Weiss Dermatology Center employs a handful of talented doctors and administrators. Dr. Hans von Weiss became the owner of the clinic in 1998 after his father stepped down, while the senior Dr. von Weiss continues to see patients on a physician referral basis only on Wednesday mornings. This center is run with the help of Dr. Jeannie Chung, who specializes in facial plastic surgery, Heidi Sauer, a Physician’s Assistant who came to the clinic in 2011, and Elizabeth Crawford, a Nurse Practitioner.
Before joining the clinic, which is housed in a historic building built in the 1820s, Dr. Hans von Weiss graduated with a doctorate in Osteopathy from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences. For his undergraduate education, he attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He later took part in an internship at Pontiac General Hospital for one year and completed his residency in 1994. Dr. Hans von Weiss received the Oclassen Pharmaceutical Resident Research Paper award through the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. This organization also gave him a license to practice in December 1994.
His early experience included working at the Freeport Clinic and Athens Dermatology. He now fulfills duties as both the owner and Laboratory Director for the Von Weiss Dermatology Center. To schedule an appointment, or learn more about the services and skin
