        Its the start of the weekend after Labor Day. I consider it one of the top weekends of the year. It's still warm here in near-north Michigan but there are little or no tourists.

        How We Got Started
        Thumbwind originally started to offer information and status updates to Michigan Thumb residents affected by the many wind turbine projects that were starting in 2008. Since that time the site has grown to highlight having fun in Michigan's Thumb. We have over 30,000 visitors a month.
