A business and mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Texas (UT), Thor Lund held student body president responsibilities during the 2012-2013 school year. He also was active with a UT Dallas robotics research group in using rapid prototype control algorithms to design a powered prosthetic leg. Thor Lund and his team members successfully demonstrated this innovative device to robotics experts from various institutions.

As chief operating officer and cofounder, he was responsible for pitching the Rewind platform before angel investors and creating a strategic plan that encompassed a two-year business cycle. He guided the marketing and distribution of the mobile platform as part of a beta testing and soft launch effort.
While at UT, Thor Lund had the opportunity to study in Cordoba, Argentina, as part of a Spanish immersion program. While in South America, he was able to visit a number of scenic spots, including the waterfalls at Iguazu on the Brazil-Argentina border.
