Gurkha Khukuri is simply a knife which is also called Khukuri. Khukuri is the symbol of the brave Gurkha who fought in Wars having Khukuri in hand. They believed that having a Khukuri is much safer than having a gun. The brave Gurkha fought in World War with Khukuri in hand without fear in the face. Khukuri is used in many official purposes like in the Nepalese Army, British Army, Indian Army, etc. Khukuri has an inwardly curved blade.
This kukri is beautifully designed at the blade. The blade of the khukuri is made 13 inches with a 5.5-inch handle. The kukri has been made by hand in Nepal. The materials used in the making process of the kukri is Highly Graded Carbon Steel, (car & Jeep leaf spring, 5160)Water Buffalo refine Leather for Scabbard(outside), and Brass for the Handle, Pinewood for the Scabbard (inside), Laha( Nepali Traditional Glue).The Hardness of steel used in the blade is spine= 22-25 RC, belly= 45-46 RC, edge= 58-60 RC. |
