Differential Scanning Calorimetry' (DSC) is a thermal analytical technique for measuring the heat energy necessary to establish a nearly-zero temperature difference between a test substance (and/or its reaction products) and an inert reference material, while the two samples are subjected to an identical (heating, cooling or constant) temperature programme.
