Scott Sedor has built a solid career within the New York Police Department (NYPD). He currently works in the Medical Division of the Department of Personnel, taking responsibility for health screenings, drug testing, and health fairs for NYPD personnel and civilians. He also coordinates the distribution of smallpox and hepatitis B shots.
Upon graduation from the Police Academy, Scott Sedor joined the Queens Task Force, doing plainclothes work and investigating alcohol-related infractions. From there, he moved to the Movie and Television Unit, where he was the liaison between film crews and business people and residents. Sedor provided security for well-known actors and producers and also enforced permits for special effects, children, and animals.
Next, Scott Sedor was in charge of statistics and training for school safety as the NYPD added a Board of Education Security Force. He analyzed crime data for a new database to reduce sudden increases of incidents in certain areas. In this role, he answered directly to the Chief of School Safety.
Scott Sedor then returned to the Police Academy, this time in Executive Development. His duties included preparing training sessions for Captains and above, creating new courses and presentations, and lining up key speakers for executive lunches. Following this job, Sedor assumed the post he has today.
