St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church began as a sanctuary for German immigrants who wished to start a congregation of their own, and transformed into a place of prayer and praise where the parish can enjoy the gift and grace of God together. As a bilingual and multicultural group, we welcome anyone looking to be embraced by our community, no matter what their background is. Our goal at St. Peter’s is to present Jesus as the center of life together, as received in the Word, in the Sacraments, and in the consoling love of the Body of Christ.
Our Lutheran Church in Brooklyn is part of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, which is one of over 6000 congregations. Here at St. Peter’s, we are family, and after service, we host a wide range of special events, banquets, and other meals, as well as activity nights, Praise Dancing, East Brooklyn Congregations, Service Events, group prayer, community service, and more! Along with community outreach such as connecting people to various agencies for help with immigration, SNAP, housing, employment, and more, St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is dedicated to hosting weekly NA meetings.
Saint Peter's Lutheran Church provides a warm and welcoming environment with stunning stained glass windows and artfully crafted pews, beams, and an altar made to create an inviting sanctuary for all those who walk through our doors. We welcome anyone to our congregation who seeks the kind of community in which you can safely celebrate God’s
