Imaging showing up to your loan closing to buy a home thinking you were getting certain loan, with fixed terms, and expecting to bring a specific amount of money to closing only to find out you’re not getting the loan you expected. Instead you’re getting an adjustable rate mortgage and you have bring in $3000 more than you expected. When you call your loan officer you’re told sorry some things changed but if you don’t sign you lose your earnest money, you have to pay for an appraisal, and you’ll lose the home you were trying to buy. Take that experience but now you’ve packed up your home, given notice to your landlord, and your wife is 7 months pregnant with twins and that would describe my first experience of buying a home. What should have been one of the best experiences of our life, was truly a gut wrenching nightmare.
This is why I decided to become a mortgage advisor 17 years ago. To help as many people as I can achieve the dream of homeownership, create financial freedom, and build wealth while making sure they never have to experience the same nightmare we went through.
I love what I do but when I take time away from work I love spending it with my wife and three teenage girls. That usually means cheering them on in tumbling, volleyball, or golf. It may sound like a challenge (it is sometimes) but I love being a #girldad. I also love the outdoors, especially being in the mountains. They are my sanctuary.
