Summers are when the ice gets very large, which causes the sea ice layer to thin and extend beyond Greenland's ice line. The meltwater from the snow and ice increases the volume of the ocean in the North Atlantic and this helps to keep the cold air outside. As a result the chilly air mass can expand upward towards the southern polar areas and this is a phenomenon that has been noticed in the past centuries. Scientists have concluded
