Footwear industry is fragmented, with more than 15,000 small and medium-sized entities operating largely in an unorganized manner. According to a report published in Economic Times, rating agency ICRA assigned negative outlook to the footwear industry in the country due to weak consumer sentiments and slowdown in Europe.
