Confused by English spelling? If so, that’s okay and very common! Even native speakers sometimes find it confusing, too. It is a fact that a number of the English language is “derived” or originated from other languages or country. This is the reason we get a lot of confusing spelled words in English. Let us take for example “Zucchini,” this word came from Italy. “Gymnasium” came from Greece, it was a place where men do their exercise naked, the list is enormous. Different cultures from different countries makes English spelling confusing and difficult sometimes. However, it is still possible to improve English spelling.
“Teaching kids (or ourselves) to spell by practicing lists of spelling words is not the easy, or most effective, way to do it. Instead, you simply need to work from the words that are currently not being spelled correctly while writing. This short video will tell you how.” according to Dr. Fred Lybrand of http://college-ready.com/
