Charlotte, North Carolina-based Melissa Stoudemayer possesses extensive experience serving the community. While completing her secondary education, Ms. Stoudemayer was one of less than 40 students selected for induction into her high school’s service society, an honor requiring at least 150 hours of volunteer service.
Concentrating her volunteerism in the Charlotte area, Melissa Stoudemayer donated her time to a wide variety of causes. She built houses with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit Christian housing organization that has made over 400,000 homes livable for those in need. She also engaged in numerous activities to benefit children, including Operation Christmas Child, sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse, and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. Additionally, Melissa Stoudemayer served Special Olympics as a volunteer and provided tutoring and mentoring to students with various life challenges, including unstable home lives, through A Child’s Place. She also served Crisis Assistance Ministry, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding those with major financial problems. Since graduating from high school, Ms. Stoudemayer has continued her community service involvement.
Having won multiple art awards before college, Melissa Stoudemayer studied for her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and minoring in Studio Art, at the University of South Carolina, where her works in oil, watercolor, charcoal, and other media were displayed in McMaster Hall.
