As the father of a son with autism, Vice Chair of Global Governance Advisors Luis Navas has developed an intimate understanding of the disorder and the challenges it presents, including the energy required of families raising children with autism. He and his wife believe that everyone involved needs a vacation now and then, though options for travel can be limited. With this in mind, Mr. and Mrs. Navas raised funding toward the recent purchase of a 2,400-square-foot, 14-bed vacation house on the Florida Panhandle’s Emerald Coast. They now provide no-cost stays on a year-round basis to families with children with autism.
Aside from his philanthropic work, Mr. Navas runs the Miami office of Global Governance Advisors (GGA), where he offers a wide range of human resources consulting, executive compensation, and corporate governance services to institutional clients in the Americas and elsewhere. He joined the firm following successful terms as National Practice Leader of Executive Compensation for the Hay Group in Canada, Vice President of Compensation for another major Canadian company, Senior Principal of the Global Executive Compensation Group at Mercer Human Resource Consulting, and Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist with BMO Nesbitt Burns, Inc.
Luis Navas completed the Honours Business Administration Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, where he earned a Master's degree in Business Administration. He now teaches in the Accredited Executive Compensation Pro
