Financial executive and investment analyst Louis Gregory Rice presently works as a portfolio manager in New York City. According to public filings, after completing his bachelor of arts in economics and business administration at Vanderbilt University, he joined Lazard Freres & Co, eventually became a managing director and head of U.S. Equity Sales and Trading. As a member of the leadership team, Louis Gregory Rice served on the firm’s New York Management and Equity Underwriting Committees, and he oversaw distribution of more than 100 financing transactions.
After nearly 20 years with Lazard Freres & Co., Rice joined New York City-based Mezzacappa Management, LLC, where he served as chief operating officer. In this role, he helped rebuild the marketing division of the alternative asset management firm.
As a portfolio manager with Kellner Capital, LLC, in New York City, he is responsible for, among other duties, thoroughly vetting investment targets in areas such as current and previous management practices, customer assets, and supply chains. Prior to joining Kellner, he worked with venerable long/short equity hedge fund firm Knott Partners, the records show.
