A University of Minnesota-educated chemist with a PhD in organic and analytical chemistry, Evan A. Weitz has conducted significant research on MRI agents and other novel chemical compounds that support the clinical imaging of neuron activity in patients with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Working in conjunction with other scientists, Evan A. Weitz has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, including “A Ratiometric Probe for the Time-Gated Luminescence Detection of Potassium in Water” and “The Effect of Lanthanide Complex Structure on Cell Viability and Association.”
While pursuing other professional opportunities, Evan A. Weitz is repairing and restoring vintage hi-fi stereo components as a senior lab technician with Absolute Sound Laboratories. His work with this Savage, Minnesota-based shop requires a comprehensive understanding of recent as well as vintage circuitry design.
Mr. Weitz concurrently serves with Achieve Academics in nearby Plymouth, Minnesota, as a math and science tutor for high school students taking the ACT exam. In addition to covering essential math and science material, he helps students develop overall test-taking strategies that are customized according to their specific strengths and weaknesses.
