Dr. Estimar comes from Bacolod City. After graduating at the top of her class in elementary and secondary school, she qualified into the IntarMed program of the University of the Philippines-College of Medicine, an extremely competitive Accelerated 7-year Medicine program which accepts only 20 boys and 20 girls from all over the country.
She completed her Residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Philippine General Hospital, which is designated the National University Hospital and is the largest training hospital in the country. After 4 years of training, she was chosen as the Chief Resident of the department in 2010. Her research has been published in national peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented at national meetings and won at research contests.
Aside from academic work, Dr Estimar has been involved in charity work such as joining medical missions and doing operations during surgical missions around the country. She has also conducted several Head and Neck Cancer Awareness lectures which make the audience knowledgeable of the risk factors, the early signs and symptoms, the early diagnosis and treatment options of head and neck cancer.
She passed the Diplomate board exams of the Philippine Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
