A North Carolina law enforcement professional with a career that spans a quarter of a century, Dawn Tevepaugh holds a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Pfeiffer University, a bachelor of science in emergency management from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, and a master of science in organizational management from Pfeiffer University. Dawn Tevepaugh also completed training at the FBI National Academy, an FBI program for active US and international law enforcement professionals who want to secure advanced credentials in their chosen fields of expertise. Building upon leadership roles with multiple college and municipal police departments, Dawn Tevepaugh has served as chief of the Durham Technical Community College (Durham Tech) Police Department since 2014. In addition to maintaining a safe and secure campus by protecting its occupants and property, her responsibilities include enforcing legal statues and Durham Tech regulations and investigating all campus criminal acts, accidents, and citizen complaints.
