A psychiatrist with more than a decade of experience as a teacher and practitioner, Carlo Carandang most recently served as an assistant professor on the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Educated at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Carlo Carandang received his MD and completed a residency at this school before undertaking a fellowship in child psychiatry at the Maine Medical Center (MMC). After his fellowship, Dr. Carandang remained at MMC as an attending child psychiatrist and the program director of Pediatric Affective Disorder Services, during which time he also treated patients at Spring Harbor Hospital and taught psychiatry at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
In 2005, Dr. Carandang assumed his duties at Dalhousie, where he taught and supervised medical students and psychiatric residents. Notable for his clinical research as well, Dr. Carandang has published his findings in numerous academic journals, including recent editions of the Journal of the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Annals of General Psychiatry, and the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology.
