Shirdi, a small village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, is known all over the world for being the land of Sai. Located at a distance of around 100 km from Nashik, Shirdi is a busy centre of pilgrim at present. Shirdi’s fame lies in the fact that it was the home of Sai Baba, a great Indian saint of the 20th century. Sai Baba had lived in Shirdi for more than 50 years of his life. It is due to the efforts of Sai Baba for the upliftment of poor and down trodden that had endeared him to the masses. Soon, his tiny little village became a big pilgrimage site for his devotees. Though the Saint attained salvation in 1918, devotees from all over the world come to Shirdi to pay their respects to the Baba every year.

The distance from Shirdi (in Maharashtra) to Bangalore (in Karnataka) is around 1021 km by road. It will take around 16 hours to cover this journey by road. As such, it is advisable to travel by train than by road. The rail connectivity between the two cities is good and only one train, the Yeshwantpur Garibrath (06540), is directly connected to Bangalore. But there are many more trains like the Adi Sbc Express (16501) and the Karnataka Express (12628) from the Manmad and Kopargaon stations, which are located near to Shirdi, that connect it to Bangalore. Online booking facilities are also available if one is travelling by train.
Apart from that there are a few buses that run from Shirdi to Bangalore on a regular basis. There are different types of buses like Multi-Axle Semi-sleeper, A/C -Multi Axle Semi sleeper and Non A/C Seater/Sleeper to choose from and the fare depends on the type of bus preferred. But a bus journey from Shirdi to Bangalore is not recommended for elders and families travelling with small kids. For such people, hiring a taxi, though costly, is recommended.
Since Shirdi does not have an airport of its own, direct air travel from Shirdi to Bangalore is not possible.
