The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) runs express, luxury, and hi-tech buses daily from the Kempegowda bus stand in Bangalore to the central bus stand in Tirupati. The ticket fare could vary depending on the type of bus. The bus journey takes around 5 hours. There are a lot of private tour operators who conduct package tours to Tirupati. The package includes the journey, accommodation and even a quick darshan at the temple. Alternately you can also hire a cab. The cost of the cab ranges from Rs. 15 to Rs. 25 per kilometre, depending on the type of car you hire. One can also travel from Bangalore to Tirupati by train. There are six direct trains running between Bangalore and Tirupati and the journey will take about 6 hours and 30 minutes. Tirupati railway station is located in the city. Trains to Tirupati depart from both Yeshwantpur and Bangalore City stations. Tirupati Passenger (56213), Sheshadri Express (7209), and Yeshwantpur Howrah express (12864) are the daily trains that run between Bangalore and Tirupati. Direct flights to Tirupati are not available from Bangalore and only available from Hyderabad and Chennai.
