Province unveils long-awaited details of Express Entry-linked stream The province of Alberta unveiled two new immigration streams on Thursday, including its anticipated Express Entry-linked stream. Both the projected streams were expected in January to come out, but the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program delayed their introduction until now. With the onset of Express Entry stream, Alberta will now be able to invite applicants in the federal Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination. AINP on announcing Express Entry stream said, “Candidates who have demonstrated strong ties to Alberta and who can help support the government’s economic development and diversification priorities will be invited to apply.” The Express Entry system predominantly has three main economic immigration classes- the Federal Skilled Worker class, the federal skilled trade class and the Canadian Experience class. The province of Alberta will automatically consider profiles in the federal Express Entry pool. The applicants who are of interest to Alberta will be directly contacted to apply for the AINP Express Entry stream. However, the selection criteria is still unknown, AINP states that it will seek candidates who demonstrates strong ties to Alberta and can support the economic development of the province.
