T-bars are trending now-a-days! Easy maintenance, cheaper, faster and comfortable! Skiing is a never tiring sport during winter and alpine skiing is the most popular among all. Experienced skiers who love racing and challenges prefer T-bars or platters over aerial lifts. Youngsters and racers get excited by challenges and exploring alpines is one of the best ways of challenging ourselves in winter.
Rope tows were known to be the first ski lifts which were introduced in the early 1900s. Then Magic carpets which are basically a kind of conveyor belt were popular. Thereafter Button lifts, T-bars and J-bars became popular while riding uphill. However, the concerns of safety for children or beginners while using these surface lifts persisted. Apart from that if surface lifts are not recommended for uneven or irregular terrains. This led to the introduction of chair lifts. People preferred protection from strong cold wind while riding uphill, so chairlifts with covering gondolas and trams were introduced. Today many ski resorts offer, there are chondolas, funicular, trains, double decker tram and so on.
Even though many advanced and comfortable aerial lifts are offered by ski resorts, the surface lifts such as T-bars and platters are still preferred by winter sports enthusiasts and skiers. We can get down before reaching the destination on the hill top and start exploring the alpines. T-bars have become safer and comfortable than the traditional ones.
