How To Boost Your Blog Traffic Using Facebook Posted: March 24, 2023 @ 5:40 pm |
If Zuckerberg would have been “God”, then Facebook would have been “God’s own country”! A country with a population of more than one billion active users. No wonder there would have been a snarling traffic but albeit a traffic which everyone loves. Yes, Facebook has emerged out to be one of the best social media platforms. And naturally, it acts as an effective means to promote your blog/ website. More people visit your blog, thereby increasing the popularity through sharing links of your blog and helping in getting better page ranks in long run. One cannot really ignore the power of one billion user base! So how to use “God’s own country” for promoting your blog? It is better to know the rules and ways beforehand than actually getting lost in the crowd. “Traffic” notices your “Status”. Well, in this “country”, ‘status’ doesn’t mean whether you are rich or poor! Updating your status means posting some catchy one liner (about anything!) or sharing some funny image/ video/ link or asking a question- your creativity is the limit to how you update your status. The idea is to be in the limelight constantly (yes, anyone can be a star in this ‘country’!) so that your fans, followers or friends in your network connect with you. More updates mean more chances of people viewing your profile and your blog. While talking about updates, I would like to mention that it is imperative to have a complete personal profile on Facebook and a blog profile. Incorporating your blog link in your Facebook profile will lure readers to read your blog. Through Facebook, you are creating a brand for your blog. Including the blog’s images into your timeline photographs, having a common theme in your personal and blog profile helps in branding the blog better and thereby better promotion. The “traffic” wants original and quality content. Content is the mother of all traffic! The first rule of the blog and Facebook is no exception. Why will people ‘like’ or ‘share’ your blog with others if they do not find anything interesting or informative? You might personally ask the people whom you know in your network to like and share your blog but you can’t persuade the larger audience if they do not find your blog interesting. Also, while sharing other’s blogs, take a note if you really like the content. If not, then please do not share mindlessly just for the sake of sharing (and expecting someone to reciprocate the favor to you). Engage with your network. When sharing your blog post on Facebook, it does not help if there is no engagement with the audience. As a part of the audience, do you really notice a link shared by your friend if your friend hasn’t mentioned anything else about the link? Write a few lines about your blog post- what it is about, why you wrote it, how you want others to read it and ask for their views. Just like blog commenting, if someone comments on your update of sharing the blog, respond with a counter comment. It increases the interaction; more and more people will check the link and will be encouraged to comment. Participating in various groups helps you to reach out to people beyond your network. Joining groups lets you mingle with people who hold interests similar to you. Sharing information, exchanging notes, getting briefed up about the latest news- it is immensely helpful. Your group members can visit your blog posts if you share the link with them, thereby making a quality traffic visit your blog. The more the number of groups you join, the more is your reach to the people- in as well as out of your network.
