If it's been a long time that you are using your swimming pool, then it’s time to check whether your pool needs to be repaired or not. Though you might have installed a high quality swimming pool filter cartridge, regular usage of the swimming pool can damage your pool. The below stated signs are an indication that your swimming pool needs to be repaired.
Leakage: The first sign that indicates that the pool needs to be repaired is leakage. If you are sure that no water has splashed out of the pool, nor has the water evaporated, it is a clear sign that there is a leakage in the pool. This leakage is an underground leakage that can be resolved by minor repairs.
Level of Air in the Pump: A leakage in the suction side of the pool, the drain area or in the skimmers can lead to air being pulled into the plumbing. This air blows back into the pool, thus if you notice bubbles in the pool water, check out for the air in the pump.
Pool Filter Problems: As discussed earlier, it is important to buy pool filter products of good quality for your swimming pool. An efficient pool filter traps all the impurities present in the water and keep the water clean. However, the swimming pool filters also need to be cleaned from time to time for proper functioning. Also, a proper check must be kept on the filters. There are three types of filters and the functioning of each can be checked through different methods.
Sand Filters: In order to check a sand filter, check the sand and figure out how rough it is. If you find that the sand is not rough, consider replacing the sand of your filter. Rough sand efficiently traps all the dirt present in the water and keeps the pool water clean.
DE and Cartridge Filters: To determine whether the DE or cartridge filters are working efficiently or not, keep a check on the water in the pool. If you find the water dirty, it is an indication that the cartridge in the pool needs to be replaced on an immediate basis.
The above mentioned points can help you in assessing if there is something wrong with your pool. Many times the problem is small, but since it is detected at a later stage, it becomes worse.
